Stand With Your Neighbors

Become a member and join hundreds of Door County residents who believe this place is worth protecting.

More Than a Donation

Membership is not just financial support - though that matters too. It is a way of saying: I am part of this. I care about this place. I want to see it protected.

When you become a member, you join a community of people who share that feeling. Farmers and artists. Retirees and young families. Lifelong residents and newcomers. People who hike the preserves, people who have never set foot on one but want to know they will be there for their grandchildren.

Your membership keeps the Land Trust rooted in this community - not beholden to distant foundations or government grants, but supported by neighbors who believe in the work.

That is what makes it meaningful.

Protect. Restore. Connect.

Your membership protects our future.

With the help of members like you, we're aiming to protect nearly 1,000 acres this year. You can help make this land protection dream a reality by giving as generously as you can.

Your membership restores the land.

Your membership supports stewardship and restoration of protected lands and waters. With hundreds of rare, threatened, and endangered species across the Door Peninsula and its islands, caring for these sensitive ecosystems is more important than ever. By supporting stewardship efforts like invasive species removal and replanting native trees, shrubs, grasses, and wildflowers, you help restore the land to native habitat and ensure Door County's most unique species thrive.

Your membership connects people to place.

Your membership ensures the wild lands we're so deeply entwined with remain free and open to the public for generations to come. Access to wild lands nurtures a land ethic for those who care deeply about Door County's remarkable ecosystems — and builds a community of conservation-minded folks who contribute countless hours as citizen scientists. From the Bumble Bee Brigade observing pollinator-plant interactions to Water Action Volunteers tracking stream health, volunteers collect the data that guides how we care for the land.

Membership Questions

Is my membership tax-deductible?
Yes. The Door County Land Trust is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Your membership gift is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
What is the difference between membership and donating?
Membership is an annual commitment - a way of saying count me in each year. You can also make one-time or additional donations anytime. Both support our work.
Do I have to renew every year?
Annual renewal keeps your membership active. We will send reminders. You can also set up automatic renewal so you never have to think about it.
Can I give a membership as a gift?
Yes! A gift membership is a meaningful way to share your love for Door County. Contact us for details.
I am only here in summer. Can I still be a member?
Absolutely. Many of our members are seasonal residents. You will get all the same updates and invitations - and your support protects the land year-round.
What if I cannot afford the suggested amount?
No matter the size of your gift, you help protect Door County's future. Like a bumble bee colony — individuals working together to protect something larger than themselves — our Land Trust hive is strengthened by you. Your generosity slows habitat decline, protects extraordinary ecosystems, and keeps our bays clear, our cedars rooted, and our lands and waters protected…forever.
