Guided Hike
Where History Meets Habitat: Exploring Anderson Pond
Discover the natural beauty and rich history of the Ephraim Preserve at Anderson Pond on this 1.6-mile guided walk through wetlands, fields, forest, and the rugged edge of the Niagara Escarpment. Tucked within a busy village, this peaceful landscape was once farmland settled by early Norwegian immigrants whose efforts helped shape the village of Ephraim in the mid-1800s. As we explore, we will observe habitats that now support migrating and nesting birds, spring wildflowers, and towering trees that were never cleared, while learning how this historic land transitioned from farm to nature preserve and remains a place of beauty, reflection, and quiet refuge.
