Discover Boo's Bluff Natural Area
Descend through a boreal forest to reach a stunning lakeshore on a guided hike through Boo’s Bluff Natural Area. Located along the northeastern shoreline of Washington Island, this protected property includes 500 feet of alkaline rockshore and sand beach, a northern mesic forest, and a 15-foot dolomite bluff. Along the way, discover why this area is a vital stopover for migratory birds and hear the touching story of how this special place came to be protected forever. Trail Information: This property contains a rustic one-mile trail over uneven terrain through a forested habitat, as well as rocky and sandy beach. Hiking boots or other sturdy, close-toed shoes are recommended.
